6 monThs down and 6 To Go
At LiftedViz the primary goal of our internship program is to support as many people as we can to build a successful career in tech. Like everything we do, our focus is on building a solid foundation, and we work to accomplish this with our data viz interns through both training and hands-on experience. Well so far, so good. At the 6 month mark our interns have exceeded our expectations. They have all passed the Certified Tableau Desktop Exam and we have officially promoted them to LiftedViz Developer 1. This means that they each have accomplished foundational training in report design, dashboard development, and data storytelling using our LV5D project management framework. This includes:
1311 combined hours of LV5D dashboard development resulting in the completion of 4 production dashboard templates with versions of each in Tableau, Google Data Studio and MS Power BI. They also produced 10+ customer specific dashboards including supporting data journalism using Tableau Public
899 combined hours of business operations learning and practice including daily practice doing Agile-Waterfall project management leveraging Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Google Sites, Google Forms and Squarespace website development and blog creation
700 combined hours of formal training courses for Tableau, Google Data Studio and MS Power BI including Tableau Certification prep and 160 hours of data storytelling with a deep dive into Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic’s book, Storytelling With Data
565 hours of research and development including monthly hack days to allow developers to explore their personal interests relative to data visualization.
326 hours of business skills development including producing social media content and event presentations
